My academic background

I am an Associate Professor of International Business at the University of Eastern Finland.  I have joined the International Business and Sales (IBS) faculty in 2019 and it has been a pleasure to be a part of IBS team. Previously I worked at the Aalto University School of Business as Senior University Lecturer of International Business. I have earned PhD in International Business in 2010 and Aalto School of Business has been academic home for many years. 

I have been a visiting researcher at a number of leading universities across the globe to learn and share knowledge. I have spent two years at Reading University  as a visiting scholar in 2006-2008 where I met many great IB scholars and made dear friends.

My work received significant interest within the academic community with publications in the Journal of World Business, Academy of Management Review, Organization Studies, Management and Organization Review, and Management International Review, amongst others. I regularly present my research at leading international business and entrepreneurship conferences, and I am a member of the Academy of International Business, European International Business Academy, and Academy of Management. I have also received several prestigious honors, including the Emerald Citation of Excellence, and Honor recognition for Best PhD thesis from Aalto University. I serve on the editorial board of the Journal of International Management and Emprendimiento y Negocios Internationales. 

I teach courses in the areas of International Business and Global Management at post-graduate and doctoral programs. I have delivered invited guest lectures and presentations at a number of leading international universities. Also, I have cooperated with firms and government agencies and have given several public speeches. I have co-authored a number of teaching cases and received an excellence award from European Case Center.

I am passionate about my work which takes a lot of time, but also offers many rewards. International Business community is my 'academic family'  and I am feel privileged to have a chance to meet such fantastic people.
